At GetPlainDoc, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We have written this in plain language because we believe privacy policies should be as clear as the documents we analyze.
1. What Data We Collect
Document Data (Temporary)
When you upload or paste a document for analysis:
- Document text: We process your document content to perform the analysis.
- Retention: Your document text is deleted immediately after analysis completes (typically within 2-3 minutes).
- What we keep: We store the analysis results (our AI output) temporarily to enable the chat feature, but not your original document.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe:
- What Stripe collects: Credit card details, billing address, email.
- What we receive: Only confirmation of payment success/failure and a transaction ID. We never see or store your card details.

Technical Data
- Cookies: Minimal functional cookies for session management only. No tracking or advertising cookies.
- Analytics: Basic usage statistics (pages visited, features used) to improve the service. No personally identifiable information.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to provide the GetPlainDoc service:
- Analyze your document using AI (Anthropic Claude API)
- Display analysis results to you
- Enable the chat feature for follow-up questions
- Process payments securely via Stripe
- Improve our service through anonymized usage analytics
We do NOT: Sell your data, use it for advertising, share it with third parties (except service providers listed below), or train AI models on your documents.
3. Data Retention
- Document text: Deleted immediately after analysis (within 2-3 minutes)
- Analysis results: Stored for 30 days to enable PDF downloads and chat features, then automatically deleted
- Payment records: Retained for 7 years for tax and accounting compliance (Stripe requirement)
4. Third-Party Services
GetPlainDoc uses these third-party services to operate:
Anthropic (Claude API)
Your document is sent to Anthropic Claude API for analysis. Anthropic does not store or train on data sent via their API.

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. They are PCI-DSS Level 1 certified (highest security standard).

5. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: Request a copy of your stored analysis results
- Deletion: Request immediate deletion of your analysis results
- Portability: Download your data in a standard format
- Objection: Object to data processing (note: this may prevent us from providing the service)

6. International Users & GDPR
GetPlainDoc is available globally. We comply with:
- GDPR (European Union): We are your data processor. You retain ownership of your data.
- Australian Privacy Act: Our company is based in Australia (New South Wales).
- CCPA (California): We do not sell personal information.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit
- Encrypted database storage
- Secure API authentication
- Regular security audits
- Immediate document deletion after analysis
8. Children's Privacy
GetPlainDoc is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used our service, contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated Last Updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
